Store pineapple with other easily ripened fruits
- Place the pineapple in a bowl side-by-side with apples, bananas, or tomatoes.
- The fruits will emit ethylene which will promote the pineapple to ripen.
Store the pineapple at room temperature
- Place the pineapple in a bowl at room temperature.
- Within one to two days the fruit’s flesh and fibers will begin to soften to become ripe.
Turn the Pineapple upside down
- Turn the pineapple upside down to rest the fruit on its leaves.
- The natural sugars within the pineapple will work their way through the top of the leaves to encourage ripening.
