Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp lime juice
  • ½ tsp rum flavored extract
  • ½ tsp green food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place a saucepan on medium heat then add the water and sugar.
  2. Bring the water to a simmer for 1 minute and stir to dissolve the sugar.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat then whisk in the lime juice and rum-flavored extract.
  4. For an authentic appearance add ½ tsp of green food coloring to the saucepan and stir together.
  5. Pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container and transfer it to the freezer.
  6. After 30 minutes remove the container from the freezer and mix well with a fork.
  7. Repeat this process two times, the last time crush the mixture until smooth then the daiquiri ice is ready to serve.
