Ingredients

  • ¼ cup black tapioca pearls
  • 2 tbsp cha-bon-bon smoothie powder
  • 1 tbsp caster sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions

  1. Place a saucepan on medium heat and add two cups of water. Bring the water to a boil then add the tapioca pearls to the saucepan. Once the tapioca pearls float to the top of the water cover the saucepan with a lid and boil for 5 minutes. Then reduce the heat of the saucepan to a simmer and cook for a further 5 minutes.
  2. Strain the boba and rinse under cold water to chill. 
  3. Transfer the boba to a bowl and add the honey, toss together to coat and sweeten the boba. 
  4. Into a jug add 1 cup water, the smoothie powder, and sugar, and stir to combine.
  5. Pour the smoothie syrup into a blender with the ice and banana, and blend until smooth.
  6. Into a tall glass add the boba pearls and top with the chilled smoothie, serve with a jumbo straw, and enjoy your boba smoothie.
