Toaster Oven is a suitable appliance when reheating crab cakes in smaller portions to serve 1-2 persons. Its compact size requires less preheating time and offers deliciously reheated moist crab cakes.

Here’s how to reheat crab cakes in toaster oven!

Ingredients

Scale
  • Crab cakes (room temperature)
  • Foil sheet
  • 1 Tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the toaster oven for 5 minutes at 325° F.
  2. Lay the crab cakes on the tray lined with a foil sheet. Keep an inch gap between each cake.
  3. Add water (1 Tbsp) to the tray.
  4. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 7 mins at 350° F.
  5. Check if the crab cakes are heated evenly using a cooking thermometer where the internal temperature reads 165° F.
  6. If not heated thoroughly, continue to bake for 2-5 minutes more at 350° F.

Finally, remove the reheated crab cakes from the oven and serve alongside fresh salad and sauce!

Notes

  • Adding 1 Tbsp water saves the crab cakes from drying out. Besides water, topping each cake with little butter before reheating also keeps them moist.
  • As goes for reheating time, room temperature crab cakes need 7 minutes, cold ones need 12 minutes, while frozen ones need 15-17 minutes.
