Our homemade Milk Thistle Tea recipe to experience the natural cleansing properties of this superfood drink.

The milk thistle plant has been used as a form of herbal medicine for centuries becoming increasingly popular recently as a detoxifier for the liver and gallbladder.

It is claimed that the herb can boost the immune system, strengthen the liver and improve general overall health, for an extra layer of flavour and health benefits add sliced ginger to the tea.

Try a cup of milk thistle tea for yourself following our recipe below.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water, hot
  • 2 tsp milk thistle seeds, ground

Instructions

  1. Place the milk thistle seeds into a cup.
  2. Boil the water in a kettle then add the hot water into the cup of milk thistle seeds.
  3. Allow the seeds to infuse for 5 minutes to extract the flavour and benefits into the tea.
  4. Place a strainer over a cup and pour the milk thistle through to remove the seeds.
  5. Serve the milk thistle tea warm.
