Ingredients

  • 2 lemons
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ⅔ cup water
  • ¼ cup strawberries, thinly sliced
  • ice cubes, to serve

Instructions

  1. Using a vegetable peeler remove the zest from the lemon in strips.
  2. Slice the lemons in half and squeeze out the juice into a bowl. 
  3. Place a saucepan on medium heat and add the sugar, water and lemon zest.
  4. Bring the water to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the lemon syrup to cool at room temperature.
  6. Strain the lemon syrup to remove the peel then stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  7. Fill a tall glass with ice cubes then top with strawberries, pour the lemonade into the glass and stir to bring the lemon and strawberry together.
