Ingredients
Rose Milk Ingredients
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tsp caster sugar
- 1 tsp rose water
- 3 tbsp rose syrup
- 1 tsp holy basil seeds (optional)
- ¼ cup water
- ice, to serve
Rose Syrup Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp dried rose petals
- 1 drop red food coloring
- ½ tsp rose essence
Instructions
Rose Syrup
- Place a saucepan on medium heat then add the water and sugar.
- Bring the saucepan to a boil then add the dried rose petals.
- On medium heat Infuse the syrup with the rose petals for 3 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat, whisk in the red food coloring, and rose essence.
- Strain the rose syrup into an airtight container and allow it to cool.
Rose Milk
- Soak the holy basil seeds in water for 10 minutes until hydrated.
- In a jug combine the milk, caster sugar, rose water and rose syrup, stir to dissolve the sugar.
- Into a tall glass add the ice cubes then pour in the rose milk.
- Garnish the top of the rose milk with holy basil seeds and serve.
