Learn how to make this homemade sugar-free spiced tea with Tang by following these steps.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 English Breakfast tea bags
  • 1 cinnamon stick (3-inches length)
  • 2 cloves
  • A pinch of nutmeg (freshly ground)
  • 3.5 cups of filtered water
  • 2 Tbsp tang orange drink powder
  • 2 Tbsp sweetened lemonade powder

Instructions

  • Begin by filling 3.5 cups of filtered water in a pot. Place it on the stove over a high flame.
  • Now, add the spices- cinnamon stick, cloves, and nutmeg. Let the water come to a boil.
  • Once the water starts boiling, cover the pot, reduce the heat to low, and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Then, turn off the stove.
  • Next, dip the tea bags and allow 3-5 minutes for a steeping time as per your preference. After that, remove the tea bags. (*3 minutes of steeping will result in the lighter tea while 5 minutes will give you a strong tea)
  • Finally, add the tang and sweetened lemonade powder. Stir well!

Pour the spiced tea with tang into cups and enjoy while warm with a slice of orange/lemon. This tea tastes delicious as cold too!

Notes

  • Since sweetened lemonade powder has sugar, this tea doesn’t add any extra sweetener. If desired you can add granulated sugar.
  • In place of the classic lemonade powder, you can use almond extract and some sugar for a flavor variation.
