Fresh, whole grapefruits are juiced to create a sour and sharp beverage that invigorates the body.

Grapefruits are a valuable source of vitamin C, minerals, and antioxidants.

In this recipe, we combine grapefruits with carrots and apples to provide additional nutrition and a natural balance of sweetness to counteract the bitter properties of grapefruit.

Ingredients

  • 1 grapefruit
  • 1 apple (any variety)
  • 3 carrot

Instructions

  1. Peel the grapefruit and carrot then discard the skin, slice the apple and remove the core.
  2. Then into a juicer add the grapefruit, apple and carrot, alternatively use a blender and blitz until the grapefruit juice becomes smooth.
  3. Pour the grapefruit juice through a strainer to remove any pulp.
  4. Serve the grapefruit juice chilled as a refreshing way to start the day.
