Ingredients
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup skimmed milk
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- ⅛ tsp ground allspice
- ⅛ tsp ground cardamom
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tea bag
Instructions
- Place a saucepan on low heat then add the water and skimmed milk, and warm through for 2 minutes.
- Then whisk in the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground allspice, ground cardamom, and vanilla extract.
- Allow the sugar and spices to dissolve in the warm liquid for 1 minute.
- Next, add the tea bag and allow it to infuse forming the vanilla chai.
- Before serving, remove the tea bag and whisk the chai vigorously to create a frothy layer.
- Strain the vanilla chai into a mug then top it with frothy milk and serve.
